Artist
Bertie
Bertie is an Australian-born, London-based DJ, Producer, Radio Host and Party Planner, who traverses the spectrum of groove. Her sets explore a signature mix of house, acid, progressive, disco and when the mood is right, deeper and darker realms.
In 2022 Bertie brought her cultivated sound into the art of production, releasing 'Pillow Queen via Melbourne/London label Phenomena Records. Then in 2024 her debut EP 'Carabiner', featuring four punchy, euphoric house tracks inspired by her queer identity, alongside a remix from Toronto's Ciel. Recently, she made her remix debut for Voodoos and Taboos via Duality Trax, with more music on the way in 2026.
A mainstay in her hometown of Naarm/Melbourne, she believes music and community go hand-in-hand. She's the co-founder of Club Aqueous; an event series giving opportunities to local and international artists from underrepresented identities and backgrounds. She also runs Freqy Rhythm; a multi-disciplinary LGBTQI+ platform, event series and record label, creating new opportunities for queer artists.
She's played at some of Australia's biggest and best festivals including Pitch Music & Arts, Strawberry Fields, Sugar Mountain, Gaytimes, Daybreak, Beyond the Valley, and recently Sonder, and supported the likes of Black Coffee, Bradley Zero, Cormac, CC:DISCO, Denis Sulta, DJ Boring, Kasper Marott, Kornél Kovács, Leon Vynehall, Patrick Holland, and Roxymore.
