Mario Marini

Mario Marini is a DJ, curator, and record dealer based in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Since beginning his musical journey in early 2016, Marini has become known for his deeply eclectic and soulful selections, drawing from rare groove, Balearic boogie, AOR, bubblegum, fusion, and even smooth folk rock.

In 2019, he founded Marini Records, originally operating as an online outlet for carefully curated, quality vinyl. Over time, the label and shop have built a reputation among DJs, record collectors, and selectors both locally and internationally.

By early 2022, Marini turned to analog: he opened a physical presence through a partnership with PAAK Vinyl Bar in Nijmegen. This space doesn’t just serve as a record store, but also as a listening bar and community hub—where vinyl culture, good music, design, and conviviality meet.

As a DJ, Mario Marini has played across many Dutch clubs and festivals—venues like Lowlands, Down the Rabbit Hole, North Sea Jazz, as well as Drift, a multitude of among them—alongside names like Hunee, Palms Trax and Mr. Scruff. His mixes and radio shows (for outlets such as Rinse, Refuge, Worldwide FM) underscore his strength: weaving diverse grooves with emotional resonance.

His style is marked by a warm sensitivity: he’s drawn to tracks with quirks—a delicate touch, unexpected melody, a bold bass line, or just something soulful and surprising. Whether behind the decks or curating rare vinyl, Mario Marini aims to bring joy, movement—and a bit of boogie sweat on —to those who listen.
